Gilded Cage by Vic James

I received a free e-book copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for this opportunity!

Rating: 4.5/5 stars
★★★★★

Gilded Cage by Vic James is a dystopian fantasy book in Britain about Equals (upper class people with powers) and commoners without powers. These commoners aren’t even considered citizens until they go through a decade of “slavedays” where they are literally just slaves. They can choose to start their slavedays whenever they want in life, though.

An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir

Rating: 5/5 stars
★★★

An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir takes place in a brutal, dystopian-ish future where a girl named Laia witnesses her brother taken by the Empire, arrested for treason. Her goal is to find the Resistance, a group of Scholars that work against the Empire, and try to get them to help her save her brother. The other main character is Elias, one of the hand-picked masks for the Empire, trying to fight for what he believes in, even though that could very well get him killed.

Lots of spoilers in this review, because I'm full of emotions and have to talk about it. This is the only warning.

milk and honey by Rupi Kaur

Rating: 5/5 stars

milk and honey is a collection of poetry by Rupi Kaur about abuse, love, womanhood, and acceptance. It's a very important book that every woman should read in their lifetime (even if they usually hate poetry, like me).
